Privacy Policy

Clear Pick ("we", "our", or "the app") is an iOS application that helps you pick the best photos from your library using on-device artificial intelligence. We designed Clear Pick to be private by default.

Summary

• We never upload your photos.
• We do not run servers that receive your photos or AI results.
• We use a third-party monitoring service (Sentry) that receives crash reports and performance diagnostics, never your photos.
• We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.

What data the app accesses

Clear Pick requests access to your Photo Library so it can analyze and rank the photos you select. Photo analysis and scoring happen locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's on-device machine-learning frameworks. Clear Pick does not upload your photos or the scores it produces. If your photos have location information saved with them, Clear Pick may use those coordinates to ask Apple Maps for place names to show in the interface.

What data we collect

We do not require an account, and we do not maintain our own backend that stores your personal data. Aside from the crash and performance diagnostics described below, we do not collect data from the app.

If you choose to email us, the email you send (and your email address) will be processed by your email provider and ours so we can reply to you.

Crash and performance diagnostics (Sentry)

Clear Pick uses Sentry to receive crash reports and performance telemetry so we can find bugs and diagnose slowdowns. Sentry runs as an SDK inside the app and sends diagnostic events to Sentry's servers.

What Sentry receives:

• Crash stack traces, exception details, and performance transaction timings.
• App version, OS version, device model, locale.
• Breadcrumbs, a short trail of in-app events and performance spans leading up to an issue, such as which screen you were on.

What Sentry does not receive:

• Your photos or thumbnails.
• Photo metadata (EXIF, location, timestamps).
• The scores or rankings produced by the on-device AI.
• Any account or contact information (we don't collect any).

Sentry's own data handling is described in the Sentry privacy policy. The Sentry integration cannot currently be turned off from inside the app.

Apple-provided diagnostics

Separately from Sentry, if you opt in to share diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may send anonymized crash reports and performance data to us. These reports do not contain your photos.

Children's privacy

Clear Pick is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above.
